101 Constitution Avenue, NW

This landmark office building occupies one of the most prestigious addresses in the District of Columbia, directly adjacent to the U.S. Capitol Grounds with an unobstructed view of the historic Capitol building. Over 525,000 sf of new commercial office space was designed for its institutional owner, the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners.

Of particular importance was the relationship of the building to its monumental context. The acutely angled corner site is resolved with a series of pedestrian-level arcades and monumental rotunda entry, while facade detailing re-examines classical concepts in a vigorously modern manner.
