The Yards at Southeast Federal Center

A keystone in the capital city’s reclamation of its long-underutilized southeast waterfront, this 48-acre redevelopment is located along the shore of the Anacostia River. The phased project represents a unique collaboration among public and private entities, united in the vision of a vibrant, activated waterfront with greenscape and amenities for public enjoyment.

The award-winning master plan incorporates six existing historic structures within a completely new waterfront community notable for its innovative mixture of residential and commercial spaces, five-acre park and marina. The Yards project was one of the first projects in the country to receive a LEED Gold certification for Neighborhood Development, with special care taken to protect the sensitive riverine environment.
